Matilda Jr

We are delighted to bring you the brand-new Teign Stage Stars production of Matilda – The Musical Jr.

Sometimes You Have to Be a Little Bit Naughty if You Want to Change Your Story

The streets of Teignmouth will be filled by the smell of rebellion when Teign Stage stars presents Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical JR. That tells the story of an extraordinary girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her own destiny.

Those who attend just may receive the biggest hug in the world, one that even might hug all of the air out of them. Matilda, a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence and psychokinetic powers, lives with cruel parents who find her to be a nuisance, a lousy little worm, and a bore. When Matilda enters her first term at school, she captures the attention of Miss Honey, a kind teacher, and the two form a wonderful friendship. Unfortunately, the school is ruled by a tempestuous and mean headmistress named Miss Trunchbull, who hates children and delivers cruel and unjust punishments to all her charges. Matilda is determined to change her story, but will her cleverness and courage be enough to withstand the reign of Miss Trunchbull?

TEIGN STAGE STARS presents Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical JR. on 13th and 14th September 2025.

Tickets are £12.50 per adult, £8 children (under 16).

From Ground Zero (12A)

From Ground Zero

From Ground Zero

22 extraordinary stories, from 22 Palestinian filmmakers, living through the unimaginable.

Charming, wistful, heartbreaking, hopeful and urgent. Palestine’s official entry to the 2025 Academy Awards, “From Ground Zero”, brings dozens of emerging Palestinian artists to the fore in an urgent cry for humanity from a people under siege.

Each film, ranging in length from 3 to 6 minutes, presents a unique perspective on the current reality in Gaza. The project, masterminded by legendary Palestinian filmmaker Rashid Masharawi and Exec Produced by Michael Moore, captures the diverse experiences of life in the Palestinian enclave, including the challenges, tragedies and moments of resilience faced by its people. Using a mix of genres including fiction, documentary, docu-fiction, animation and experimental cinema, From Ground Zero presents a rich diversity of stories that reflect the sorrow, joy and hope inherent in Gazan life.

These are only a snapshot of the stories shared. Chronicling the lives of people too often discussed in reference to numbers and refugee camps, From Ground Zero is an extraordinary time capsule, an urgent response to an ongoing catastrophe, and an artist’s call to bear witness to a crime scene. It is a reminder that despite sustained efforts to silence them - the film stricken from the 2024 Cannes lineup on political grounds after initially being accepted - the voice of the Palestinian people is louder than ever through art and film.

The Unravelling Wilburys 2025

The Unravelling Wilburys 2025

This top tribute show is more than just a tribute - they are the completepackage! With their perfect combination of brilliant musicianship and tongue in cheek humour, they have had rave reviews throughout the UK.

Playing the country-rock songs of the 1980s supergroup ‘The Traveling Wilburys’, the band also steal some choice numbers from the back catalogue of each of its five iconic members; Roy Orbison, Tom Petty, George Harrison, Bob Dylan and Jeff Lynne.

Born out of the ashes of the popular B eatles tribute band Sgt Pepper’sOnly Dart Board Band, the fabulous UNRAVELLING WILBURYS are madeup of Sticky Willy, Walter, T humper, Blind Melon and Honky TonkWilbury, the “real” Wilbury brothers, who present their own unique slant on what it means to be a trib ute band. The show tells the story of the fateful night in Nashville’s Tootsies Bar in 1987, when their songs were(allegedly) stolen by Messrs Orbison & Co. and the hard road they had to tread to get ‘em back.

Songs such as ‘End of the Line’, ‘Handle with Care’, ‘The Devil’s Been

Busy’, and ‘Tweeter and The Monkey Man’ form the basis of the set,

which also features additional choice cuts including ‘Pretty Woman’

(Orbison), ‘Mr Blue Sky’ (Lynne), ‘American Girl’ (Petty), ‘While My GuitarGently Weeps’ (Harrison), and ‘A Hard Rain’s Gonna Fall’ (Dylan).

Introduction to Emotional Freedom Technique

Introduction to Emotional Freedom Technique

NEW - INTRODUCTION TO EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUE

In a small group setting we will explore, discuss and demonstrate how it works in accessible way [no-one is required to share anything personal beyond their wishes]

Come and learn the basics and see if this has a benefit for you in creating ‘your personal peace’ and equilibrium.

Peter Knight & John Spiers

Peter Knight & John Spiers

Peter Knight and John Spiers have made long lasting and significant contributions to the English folk scene via their work with Steeleye Span and Bellowhead, and more recently with the Gigspanner Big Band, and each has changed the perception of what traditional music can be, simultaneously introducing it to much wider, including global, audiences.

Originally brought together by FolkEast Festival for a one-off concert in 2016, their partnership has blossomed into  “One of the most intriguing and exciting collaborations on today's folk scene” KLOF Magazine.

The pairing of violin and melodeon is not a new one, but in the hands of Knight and Spiers, improvisation and invention meet the listener at every turn. Together they have created a something to inspire future generations of musicians to engage with Britain’s folk dancing heritage, and the beautiful, mysterious tunes that can be found within that heritage.

"There can be no doubting that both performers are amongst the most, if not the most, talented of their peers. I was probably not the only person to leave the venue in awe at having witnessed something very special” Fatea Magazine

La Traviata

ROH. La Traviata

Synopsis:

At one of her lavish parties, celebrated Parisan courtesan Violetta is introduced to Alfredo Germont. The two fall madly in love, and though hesitant to leave behind her life of luxury and freedom, Violetta follows her heart. But the young couple’s happiness is short-lived, as the harsh realities of life soon come knocking.

As intimate as it is sumptuous, La traviata features some of opera’s most famous melodies, and is a star vehicle for its leading soprano role sung by Ermonela Jaho. In director Richard Eyre’s world of seductive grandeur, the tender and devastating beauty at the centre of Verdi’s opera shines bright.
