Beginners Spanish "Spanish In Your Pocket"
Term 1 - 5 weeks.
Starts Monday 12th January 10am to 11am.
£60.00 (introductory rate £12.00 per session)
In Term 1, you’ll build a solid and practical foundation in Spanish, learning the essential language skills needed to introduce yourself, describe people, talk about your daily life, and navigate everyday situations. From the very beginning, you’ll start using Spanish actively greeting others, asking simple questions, sharing personal information, and gaining confidence with key verbs like ser, tener, and llamarse. As the weeks progress, you’ll expand your vocabulary to include countries, professions, adjectives, numbers, and common activities, giving you the tools to express who you are and understand others.
You’ll also learn to handle real-life tasks such as telling the time, talking about routines, and giving or understanding simple directions around a city. Along the way, you'll practice forming questions, using the present tense with both regular and irregular verbs, and working with reflexive verbs to describe daily habits. Grammar is introduced step by step, always connected to meaningful communication, so you can start speaking naturally and confidently.
By the end of the term, you’ll be able to talk about yourself, describe people, explain your schedule, and move around a city using clear, functional Spanish. With each homework task, you’ll reinforce what you learn and see your progress grow. After a short break, you’ll be ready to continue into Term 2 with a strong base and the motivation to keep going

Meet your tutor:
My name is Deborah, and I come from Madrid, the vibrant capital of Spain. I was born in Santiago de Compostela, the city famous for marking both the beginning and the end of the “Camino de Santiago.”
After completing my teaching qualification, I chose to move to England in September 2006 to truly master the language and immerse myself in the culture.
I’ve always been fascinated by languages—their structure, their history, and the way they allow us to connect with others on a deeper level. Understanding a language opens the door to understanding people, and that has always inspired me.
Over the years, I’ve taught in schools, delivered Spanish classes, and offered private tutoring. I now dedicate myself to working full-time as a Spanish tutor, helping learners develop their skills and encouraging them to explore and appreciate Spanish and Latin culture
